Greenwich, CT (May 13, 2017) – Greenwich Hospital’s Dr. Julie Huang-Lionnet was selected to serve on the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) board of directors, becoming the first female pain management physician to serve on the board.
“This is a great opportunity to become involved with developing innovative treatments and technologies that can improve the quality of life of our patients,” said Dr. Huang-Lionnet, an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist with Greenwich Hospital’s Sackler Center for Pain Management and Smilow Cancer Hospital’s Greenwich Hospital campus.
Huang-Lionnet will also chair the Women in Neuromodulation executive committee to attract more women to the field. “Our goal is to bring women of diverse training backgrounds together to build scholarly networks and increase leadership roles within the global neuromodulation community,” she said.
NANS is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of the field of neuromodulation, which applies targeted electrical, chemical and biological technologies to the nervous system to relieve pain and improve function and quality of life.
